If your teens rely on a big can of liquid energy to power through high school exams, their routine is about to get a massive reality check. The Quebec government is fast tracking a bill to completely ban energy drink sales to anyone under 16, and it could officially become law before the weekend hits.

This whole movement is already making waves way past city lines. Pharmacy giant Familiprix just pulled energy drinks from 455 stores across Quebec and New Brunswick, which has our East Coast neighbors talking about copying this movement and banning them too.

The Quebec ban almost hit a wall when a Conservative MNA spoke out against fast tracking it. But a weekend plot twist changed everything. Party leader Éric Duhaime met with the grieving parents of a teenager who tragically passed away after mixing a Red Bull with prescribed ADHD meds.

Now, the Conservatives are stepping aside to let the bill pass, as long as the province holds public hearings with doctors and corner store owners first.

Looks like Quebec is officially on the verge of keeping high caffeine drinks out of teen hands!
