Whether you are a Toy Story fan or, more likely, a dedicated Swiftie, chances are you’ve already heard Taylor Swift’s new song, “I Knew It, I Knew You.”
The original track was written exclusively by Swift for the upcoming animated film Toy Story 5, inspired by the character Jessie and her emotional journey through the series.
The singer shared that she has been a fan of the films since she was about five years old, and was directly approached by Disney and Pixar earlier this year to contribute a song to the soundtrack.
“I Knew It, I Knew You” marks a triumphant return to Swift’s country roots. The track features a distinct country flair, driven by banjo and harmonica, and was co-written and co-produced alongside her longtime collaborator, Jack Antonoff.
The overall vibe of the song captures a sense of childhood nostalgia and the bittersweet feeling of reconnecting with an old friend.
