The kangaroo that went rogue over the weekend on Montreal’s South Shore was finally caught on Tuesday.

Quebec’s Ministry of the Environment confirmed that the animal was safely captured and is currently being monitored by professionals to assess its health.

The kangaroo, nicknamed Joey, has been taken to the Granby Zoo. From there, he will be moved to a sanctuary to live alongside other animals of his kind.

The Ministry also confirmed that before his escape, Joey was being kept illegally in a facility that did not comply with provincial regulations.
