If you were planning on taking the Jacques-Cartier Bridge to travel between Montreal and the South Shore on fireworks nights, you’re in for a tricky surprise.
The bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic starting at 8:00 PM on July 2, 9, 12, 16, 23, 26, 30, and August 6.
This annual closure allows spectators to safely watch L'International des Feux Loto-Québec (the international fireworks festival), which kicks off tonight.
While the bridge is closed to cars, the regular sidewalk and multipurpose path will undergo a schedule change. Between 7:45 PM and 11:45 PM, the bridge will be exclusively reserved for pedestrians, strollers, and people with reduced mobility. Bicycles will not be permitted during this time.
