Drake has lost a $1 million bet after putting his money on a UFC fight.

The rapper had bet that Conor McGregor would beat Max Holloway at UFC 329 on Saturday.

It was Conor's first UFC fight in five years. He sustained a leg injury at the beginning of Round 1, which meant he could not continue. The referee waived the fight.

Before the match, Drake took to social media to throw his support - and his money - behind the star. "THE MAC IS BACK?!?!?? The proper twelve drinking, tailored suit wearing, Lambo Yacht riding man with the Dubai tan that once had both belts in both hands...Say less," he wrote.

Because of McGregor's injury, the official result was that Holloway won in just 69 seconds.

"I was so sharp and so ready for this fight I cannot believe what has happened. The talk of me being off while walking in to the fight is nonsense. I was calm, ready, and confident. I am in shock what has taken place. The devil is literally staring at me right in front of my face here. I am not engaging. I will be at church tomorrow. I will overcome this. I will not be deterred. I will return," McGregor wrote afterwards.

If McGregor had won, Drake would have pocketed just under $3 million (£2.14 million).
