Early Monday morning, police in Quebec pulled over a 21-year-old driver who was clocked traveling 208 km/h along Highway 15 northbound near Cartier in Laval. The incident occurred shortly before 1:00 a.m. inside a posted 100 km/h zone.
Sûreté du Québec officers issued the motorist a $1,993 fine, 24 demerit points, and a seven-day license suspension.
In response, provincial authorities reminded all drivers to reduce their speed, emphasizing that fast driving is a leading contributor to fatal traffic accidents.
