Shakira and Maluma have teased that they are getting back together for a new musical collaboration.

The Colombian pop powerhouses teased their fourth joint venture on Wednesday, sharing a sultry image in a joint Instagram post alongside the caption: "Agua 17.09.26 Nos fuimos Mundialllll," which translates roughly to "We're going big".

The post features the Barranquilla superstar in a white lace dress, while the Medellín singer sits in a chair, gazing up at her.

Maluma further fuelled anticipation by teasing Agua on TikTok. The preview features the lyric, "Cuando me miras se me hace agua la boca" ("When you look at me, it makes my mouth water"), and shares a pre-save link for the song on Maluma's website ahead of its expected 17 September release.

The upcoming release reunites two of Colombia's biggest musical exports nearly a decade after their first collaboration. Pop-reggaetón hit Chantaje was released in 2016 and topped Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart for 11 weeks.

The pair later joined forces on Trap, featured on Shakira's 2017 album El Dorado, followed by Clandestino in 2018, a sultry, reggae-tinged collaboration that topped Billboard's Latin Airplay, Latin Pop Airplay and Latin Rhythm Airplay charts.

Shakira is currently preparing for her 12-show Madrid residency, which kicks off on 18 September.
