Paramore singer Hayley Williams feels more mature as a platinum blonde

The musician recently dyed her locks platinum blonde after sporting a multi-colored look for years and the Ain't It Fun hitmaker reveals she had to let go of her old hairstyle to balance herself out emotionally.

"The hair thing is so emotional for me," she explains to Entertainment Weekly. "About a year ago, I called my colorist and was like, 'I’m going through so much emotionally. I need a reset. I need you to bleach my hair.' "

Hayley believes her dramatic change in hairstyle has helped her mature: "This has been really important for me, as a 27- and 28-year-old, to show myself every morning when I get up that I’m not someone who is going to live in the past.

"When it’s time for Neon Hayley to come back to life, she will. But right now, this is me."

Hayley's previous penchant for dying her hair neon colors prompted her to launch her own range of hair dyes last year (16), called Dye Young.

The star revealed to Rock Sound magazine she stepped into the beauty business because she was touched when fans turned up to shows mimicking her "crazy make-up" and colorful, wild look.

"When I started seeing girls at shows who had dyed their hair and stuff like that, it meant an awful lot to me," she smiled. "It made me feel so much better about just being me, and not worrying whether or not anybody would take me seriously for looking like myself."
