The Quebec government assured on Wednesday that it will do its utmost so that nurses can take vacations during the summer season.

Worried about not being able to take vacations this summer due to the ministerial decree, the nurses had organized a demonstration in front of the office of Prime Minister François legault, Tuesday. To reassure them, the Deputy Prime Minister, Geneviève Guilbault, had a special message for nurses in Quebec, during her press briefing.

"Our nurses will be able to benefit from a well-deserved rest this summer. There is no question of preventing our nurses from taking vacations. We must have everyone as fresh and available as possible for this fall to take care of our vulnerable people, among other things. ”

"On the other hand, we are going to favor two-week vacation sequences and it will be necessary for the establishments to be able to maintain the supply of services. For obvious reasons, we cannot afford to have service disruptions ”

"In cold zones, vacations can be managed as usual under union agreements and rules"
