Montreal has decided to make half of its reserved bus lanes available to cyclists. The number of vehicles on the road has dropped in Montreal Pre Covid so they said it will be a good decision.

Although this decision is facing a lot of criticism from STM employees and city counselors the risk of cyclists sharing the road so closely with busses that have such large blind spots may lead to more accident.

The city has not yet decided which reserved bus lanes will be opened to cyclists but has said it will be about half of them overall.
