The feel-good story of the week!
Earlier this week, a story went viral about Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds and a lost teddy bear.
For the unfamiliar, Reynolds offered a reward to anyone who could help a woman in Vancouver find her stolen teddy bear which contained an audio recording of her late mother's voice.
The bear's owner, Mara Soriano, told Vancouver reporters that the stuffed toy, created by Build-a-Bear, features her mother saying, "I love you, I'm proud of you, I'll always be with you." The recording is particularly sentimental as Mara's mother passed away last year.
In an emotional social media post, Soriano had said that the teddy bear was a gift from her mom and that she listened to and hugged the bear every time she was feeling down. “I don't care about the electronics (referring to the other items in her stolen backpack), I just want my bear back," she said.
When a photo and description of the missing teddy bear was posted on Twitter, the story went viral thanks to Reynolds who retweeted it to his 16.2 million followers stating he was offering $5,000 to anyone who returns it, "no questions asked."
Since tweeting out his offer, thousands of other people including celebrities have called on their own followers to help find Mara's bear.
