Yesterday at her Ottawa briefing Dr Teresa Tam said that a COVID-19 vaccine will not bring an end to the virus.

The Vaccine will not be that silver bullet that everyone is hoping for. Teresa Tam said that life with mask wearing and social distancing may be around for at least 3 years even with a vaccine. This is because the possible vaccine cannot be immediately distributed to everyone.

There is nothing that is clear yet, on how effective the vaccines will be, what dosage will need to be taken and how long immunity lasts.

Tam said she believes that anyone over the age of 10 should be wearing a mask when social distancing cannot be possible.
