The Canada Revenue Agency has temporarily shut down its online services after two cyberattacks compromised the personal information of thousands of Canadians!

At least 5,500 accounts were affected by 2 separate cyberattacks where the CRA’s ‘My Account,’ ‘My Business Account’ and ‘Represent a Client’ were targeted exposing Email addresses and direct deposit information – so CRA online services,” has temporarily disabled.

The agency is sending letters to people whose accounts have been compromised; in the meantime, people are strongly encouraged to avoid reusing passwords for different systems and applications.”
