Quebec public health has announced 900 new cases in their daily update on Wednesday morning, making this the first time in six days that the daily count dropped below 1,000.

According to Santé Quebec, young people aged 20 to 29 still make up the largest proportion of coronavirus cases at 16.4 percent, followed by people aged 40 to 49 at 14.6 percent.

There are now 81,914 cases in the region, 409 hospitalizations, and 62 patients in intensive care. Seven new deaths were reported. One occurred over the past 24 hours, four between Sept. 30 and Oct. 5, and two others on unknown dates.

Once again, Montreal added the most new COVID-19 cases of any Quebec region, with 269.

As of October 7, 1,554,517 tests came back negative throughout Quebec.
