According to the latest report from the Quebec government, 1,009 schools across the province have reported at least one positive COVID-19 case.
The data was revealed by Quebec’s Education Board and takes into account all pre-schools, elementary schools, high schools, and trade schools throughout Quebec.
The total numbers are staggering with 3,335 known infections between staff and students across the province. According to the government, 2,669 students and 666 teachers have been diagnosed with the virus with most cases found in public schools (1,435).
Quebec has reported just over 50 per cent of the country’s cases over the past two weeks, according to the Canada COVID-19 Situational Awareness Dashboard. The most recent stats for Quebec also confirm that that younger people represent a large number of cases during this “second wave”.
