A new bedtime pill is being tested that might just save a marriage or two – and no, it’s not the little blue pill we're used to talking about.
A nightly pill that promises to put an end to snoring is being tested in the United States. The pill has the potential to reduce snoring frequency by 74% and not only does it reduce snoring, but patients’ blood oxygen levels also increased significantly throughout the trial.
Not only could the pill lead to better sleep, but it could also free thousands of people from their clunky CPAP breathing machines.
Snoring often occurs as facial muscles relax during sleep, creating a narrow opening for air to pass through for breathing. The rattling sound then comes from your mouth’s soft tissues vibrating as air forces its way in.
