Quebec health officials reported Friday that 1,269 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 bringing the total number of positive cases in the province to 138,163 since the pandemic began.
Quebec has also reported 38 additional deaths. Of the newly added deaths, nine occurred over the past 24 hours.
The Quebec Institute of Public Health is reporting that there are currently 11,452 active cases in the province and there are 669 people currently hospitalized due to COVID-19, 90 of whom are in intensive care.
The regions with the highest increase were in Montreal with 306 new cases, Monteregie with 198 new cases, Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean with 146 new cases, Quebec City with 132 new cases, and Lanaudiere with 110 new cases.
Total coronavirus cases in the province have now reached 138,163, along with 6,984 deaths.
