The Media Food Drive is back!
As we do every year, The Beat will participate in La guignolée des medias to help local food counters across the city of Montreal.
During the holiday season, the demand for food increases and so it is important that we all do what we can to help those in need.
For the unfamiliar, both cash and food donations are accepted and if you prefer giving cash, you can do so online by clicking here. Here is a full list of where the donations go— and if you would like to volunteer, you can click here for more info.
Also, worth noting, the donations collected are used in the months that follow, when donations are often scarce, but the needs are still there.
La guignolée des medias was founded in 2001 and spearheaded by the late actress Rita Lafontaine. It has since grown bigger every year, reaching over $ 1 million in donations two years later, and has not slowed down since.
The Media Food Drive will take place from November 24 to December 31.
Keep an eye out for donation centers on street corners on Thursday, December 2.
To give in the meantime, we invite you to contact your local organization.
Thank you for your generosity and see you soon!
