Quebec City police were busy this holiday season handing out hefty fines to dozens of people for violating health measures during the week of Christmas.

As of Dec. 28, the SPVQ said it broke up several Illegal gatherings and fined 41 people in total— fourteen of which were teens caught partying in a Sainte-Foy residence after police received a tip.

The SPVQ says the tenant didn’t cooperate and that youths, aged 16 to 19, were all fined.

Tickets for minors are $560 whereas those for adults cost $1,546.

According to spokesperson Étienne Doyon, a total of 164 calls were received regarding COVID-19 protocol violations over the holiday weekend.

In better news, the Montreal police department said they did not have to break any illegal gatherings in Montreal over the weekend.
