This Saturday is "National Use Your Gift Card Day," a holiday designed to remind you to take advantage of the unused gift cards.
Everyone loves gift cards, but sometimes we forget about them once they’re in our wallets. In fact, you may be surprised at just how many gift cards are never used. According to recent statistics from Mercator Advisory Group, Inc., $3.5 billion in gift cards go unredeemed each year. Thus, the point in “National Use Your Gift Card Day”— it serves as a reminder to take advantage of those cards.
“More than ever before, gift cards can help retailers, restaurants, and consumers, and National Use Your Gift Card Day reminds gift card recipients to use them,” said Tracy Tilson, who came up with the idea and founded UseYourGiftCard.com.
National Use Your Gift Card Day is tomorrow Saturday, January 16, and couldn’t come at a better time to either use forgotten gift cards or donate to someone that needs support during these difficult times.
