Lady Gaga wore a show-stopping Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown for her Inauguration Day performance on Wednesday.

The 34-year-old sang the national anthem as Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th president of the United States in a star-studded ceremony in Washington D.C., and Gaga turned heads when she arrived at the U.S. Capitol to belt out The Star-Spangled Banner.

Gaga's ensemble was designed by Daniel Roseberry and featured a structured navy cashmere jacket with a huge gold brooch of a dove holding an olive branch, and a red silk faille ballgown skirt.

"As an American living in Paris, this ensemble is a love letter to the country I miss so dearly and to a performer whose artistry I have so long admired," Schiaparelli's artistic director Roseberry said in a statement. "Maison Schiaparelli is honored to have this chance to dress the iconic Lady Gaga on this historic inauguration day. God Bless Lady Gaga and God Bless America."

Gaga also took to Twitter to share the meaning behind the dramatic gold brooch and told her fans and followers that it was a reference to incoming president Biden's determination to bring together a divided country.

"A dove carrying an olive branch. May we all make peace with each other," she wrote.

The Oscar-winning singer/songwriter arrived in Washington D.C. on Tuesday and stunned in yet another designer look: a white cape dress by Givenchy.

She teamed the gown with a matching turtleneck and face mask and had her platinum-blonde hair in a braided updo.
