Sometimes you need to choose your words carefully, especially these days if you find yourself working from home and communicating mostly through text.

If you're looking for words that you should avoid, try eliminating “actually” from your regular vocabulary.

It might seem harmless but saying “actually” can come across as condescending, judgmental, smug, and cloying.

The bottom line is, "actually" is one of those words that changes the meaning of a sentence in subtle, usually dissenting ways.
