After a very long year of sweatpants, messy hair, and never ending Zoom calls... Many people are fed up with the (now trendy) work-from-home lifestyle that was brought upon us due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Among the many things that we have learned this past year, the one thing people are missing most about pre-pandemic life is the social aspect of being at the office. From small talk in the break room, to waiting for your documents to print at the photocopier - there is truly nothing like it when it comes to office culture.
Creative directors Katie Facada and Thibault Gerard for design firm RGA in New York were planning a parting gift for two of their colleagues when they came up with the idea to create office-scented candles. They thought of everything from “warm 96-page deck left on the printer” and “afternoon rush at the coffee bar”. Shortly after their ingenious invention, they produced the uniquely scented candles for the entire company.
What started out as a funny joke between colleagues, has now taken on a whole new life of its own as they started to receive requests from clients all across the USA. They’ve since stated that this journey will be short-lived, despite the outcome having been overwhelmingly positive. Too bad… We were hoping to get our hands on one of those “fresh Lysol from a bathroom closed for cleaning” candles.
