Alicia Keys, Saweetie and Pink added a splash of bold colour to the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday.

The Girl on Fire singer walked the red carpet in a striking pink Valentino ensemble consisting of a crop top and high-waisted trousers, with a ruffled off-the-shoulder wrap boasting a long train and matching pink heels.

Alicia was celebrating the 20th anniversary of her debut album Songs in A Minor and performed a medley of her hits at the show. The star's hairstylist Kendall Dorsey revealed Alicia's elegant braided updo was inspired by her iconic album.

"With this look we want to homage to the album cover, so we created a crown for the queen with a simple yet elegant braided style," he wrote on his Instagram account accompanied by a series of photos of the star getting ready for the event.

Alicia wasn't the only one to dazzle in a bold hue, Pink - who picked up the Icon Award at the ceremony - also turned heads in a plunging fuchsia gown complemented by a matching pair of chandelier-style earrings.

My Type singer Saweetie seemed to have taken inspiration from Netflix period drama Bridgerton with her regal peach-coloured ruffle gown from Giambattista Valli. The dress boasted pink petals cascading down from her chest and a thigh-high split in the front.

While her elaborate gown attracted plenty of attention, her nails were the standout part of her look. Sporting a three-inch glossy pink manicure, each of Saweetie's nails was topped with a huge rhinestone jewel.

Looking as loved-up as ever at the event in Los Angeles, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra were widely hailed as the best-dressed couple of the evening.

As host for the night, Nick embraced the vibrant trend, stepping out in a monochromatic emerald Fendi suit, silk shirt and matching green trench coat. He finished the look with thick sole leather boots from Fendi and a chunky gold wallet chain.

His stunning wife Priyanka dazzled in a long-sleeved sheer gold gown from Dolce & Gabbana, with her stylist Law Roach revealing the custom-made dress - which featured a deep v-neckline and high split at the front - was inspired by the fashion house's A/W '07 collection. Priyanka, who was a presenter at the ceremony, finished the look with a gold-plated belt and metallic sandals.
