The SPVM received a call near 2pm on Sunday afternoon in regards to a spotting of a black bear that was found wandering the streets of Dorval.
Quick to action, officers released a PSA to protect the general public from encountering the wild animal.
At around 4pm, a veterinarian on the ‘Sauvetage Animal Rescue’ team was on site and administered the proper medications to sedate the animal, once they were able to lure him into a tree. The efforts in capturing the black bear took a total of 5 hours, where they were able to capture the wild animal and relocate him safely.
