What is the most expensive purchase you’ve ever made that wasn’t that justifiable? For most of us, it would be an expensive purse, a car, maybe even a big bill at the end of a late night dinner.

There is nothing wrong with living life lavishly, of course. Sometimes, we deserve to spoil ourselves with items that bring us joy or peace in our life. While the cost of these purchases will vary from one person to another, there are some stories that come around every here and there that never fail to amaze us…

A parking space in a Hong Kong neighborhood was recently sold for $1.3 million dollars, breaking a new world record. The parking space takes up 134.5-square feet of space, coming out to an average of $9,500 per square foot. The previous world record for the most expensive parking space came out to a total of $969,000.

For reference, in Montreal the average cost for a parking space averages in the 65-75 thousand dollar range. The more of a hot spot in the city you’re in, like Old Montreal, the more expensive.
