Quebecers can receive their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, even if it is still not their turn.
Despite the official announcement having been made a few days ago from the Quebec government that second vaccine appointments had been pushed up in the province, it became known that those with their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine can skip their turn and get their second dose of the vaccine even before their scheduled appointment.
Those that have already received their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine may get their second dose at a walk-in clinic, so long that they have had an 8 week period in between. This of course all depends on stock availability and luck. However, if you wish to test that luck, you can visit a walk-in clinic to see if there is an opening for you to take, even if you're not eligible to move up your appointment on the ClicSante website.
Those that have received Moderna as their first dose must wait until a time slot becomes available as there are not enough vaccines in the province. Lastly, for those that have received AstraZeneca as their first dose, they may go to a walk-in clinic.
This week, the province is expecting to receive 21,700 vaccines of Moderna, which will help boost the second vaccine appointments.
It is important to note that it is still encouraged for Quebecers to keep their scheduled appointments, despite this new information.
