Canada has ended mandatory hotel quarantine for fully vaccinated Canadian travellers

Starting today, Monday July 5, fully vaccinated Canadian travellers are allowed to return to Canada without following the mandatory hotel quarantine guidelines that were previously put in place.

According to the Canadian government’s website, those that meet the following criteria are exempt from further quarantine once they enter the country:

Those who meet the requirements may be exempt from:

  • quarantine
  • hotel stopover (for air travellers)
  • day-8 testing requirement

The current vaccines that are accepted in Canada include: Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD COVID-19 vaccine, and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 vaccine - single dose.
