Amazon just announced that customers can now purchase different voices for their Alexa digital assistant on their smart speakers, and the voices may be more familiar than you think…

U.S. customers can now purchase voice assistants with Melissa McCarthy and Shaquille O'neal's voice for only $4.99 on Amazon for their smart speaker devices. Customers will be able to ask the two major celebs to do a variety of tasks such as asking for the weather, telling jokes, playing music, reading stories or poems, or even to get Shaq to rap for you.

Feeling down? Get Melissa to make you laugh! Curious to learn about Shaq’s other talents? Get him to rap for you! You’ll be surprised at how quickly they’ll blend in with the family.

According to Variety.com, Shaq shared that the process of recording his voice was one of the most challenging experiences he’s ever endured. The entire process took about 60 hours over the course of the 3 months to be able to record all of the sentences, words, and phrases.

“We’re thrilled to add two new celebrity personalities to Alexa and had a great time working with Shaquille O’Neal and Melissa McCarthy on this project. We can’t wait to see what customers think,” said Toni Reid, VP of Alexa experience and Echo devices at Amazon.

Speaking of… While you’re listening to your smart speaker, make sure to ask Melissa or Shaq to play The Beat 92.5 for the perfect summer mix listening!
