When was the last time you had a chance to attend a hot air balloon festival? Well, this summer, Saint Jean-sur-Richelieu is hosting just that.

The Ciel en Fête will brighten up every weekend in August with a plethora of activities to choose from and various events to suit all tastes including free yoga courses, the Canadian Hot Air Balloon Championships, a tailgate party, an SAQ picnic, and an air show that consists of incredible aerial acrobatics.

And yes, the festival will feature dozens and dozens of hot air balloons from across Quebec, decorating the skies with vibrant colours and amazing sights. Even better, the five-weekend festival will also offer guests the chance to ride in a hot air balloon courtesy of three Quebec air balloon companies: Balad’Air, La Magie de l’Air, and Montréal Montgolfières.

The festival is free to attend, except for the SAQ-sponsored picnic. It all happens August 1, 7-8, 14-15, 21-22, and 28-29 at Parc du Centre-de-Plein-Air-Ronald-Beauregard (93 Rue Towner, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu).
