The Montreal Ribfest returns with its 6th edition this summer, only as a scaled-down version with pandemic safety measures in place.
Despite having to cancel their festival in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the agency has re-imagined this year’s fest and has decided to host a take-out-style event to maximize the safety and security of community members and the general public.
This year’s festival will feature 3 Ribbers (Ribs Royale, Dinosaur BBQ, and Fat Boys), 6 food vendors (Beavertails, Lemonade Montreal, Street Pizza, Blooming Onion, Corn Roaster, and Twister Potatoes), and an online marketplace.
Funds raised at the festival through donation collection, as well as merchandise and drink sales, will go back to the various programs the agency has to offer. Each program enables life-changing mentoring relationships to ignite the power and potential of youth in the West Island.
In the BBBSWI 2019-2020 annual report, it was noted the three-day festival had raised a net profit of $66,150 for its programs.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Island’s biggest fundraiser of the year will be taking place August 13th-15th from 11 am-8 pm at 13665 Pierrefonds Blvd. Visit their official website for more information.
