Here’s a list of random movie facts from the 90’s you probably didn’t know about…

  • John Hughes, producer and writer of Home Alone, specifically wrote the role of Kevin with Macaulay Culkin in mind to play the part.
  • Scarlett Johanson also auditioned for the role of Judy in Jumanji, played by Kirsten Dunst.
  • The cake scene in Matilda took multiple takes as the actor needed a spit bucket nearby, since he wasn’t a huge fan of chocolate cake to begin with.
  • Lindsay Lohan wore an earpiece in scenes with her twin when acting in The Parent Trap, so she could hear her sister in the film’s lines (also played by Lohan).
  • During production, someone at Pixar accidentally deleted all of the work of Toy Story 2. Thankfully, someone on maternity leave had a copy of the film at home and was able to restore the work made previously.
