Kanye West is officially no more.

Back in August, the 44-year-old musician filed to change his name to his long-standing nickname.

It took a while, but the paperwork has finally been approved and now Kanye Omari West will be known legally as Ye.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michelle Williams Court gave her nod to the request by the singer who stated he was making the change for personal reasons.

The entertainer released an eighth studio album titled “Ye” in June 2018. It’s been his Twitter handle for some time.

When the music and fashion mogul was asked about the meaning behind the name, he replied:

“I believe ‘ye’ is the most commonly used word in the Bible. In the Bible it means you. So, I’m you. And I’m us. It’s us. It went from being Kanye, which means the only one to just Ye, just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused—everything. It’s more of a reflection of who we are [as] beings.”
