9-year-old girl organizes project to give back to Montreal homeless community

A 9-year-old girl is making a huge difference in her community by organizing a project to help the Montreal homeless population this winter.

Kyra Milan Brown is leading a small group of volunteers that include friends and family to collect various items that they will be handing out on Wednesday, December 8th.

Kyra and her team are asking for donations from Montrealers to help support their project and are asking for some of the following items: warm outerwear, toothbrushes, toothpaste, body wash, hand sanitizers, snacks, socks, masks, gloves, hats, etc.

CTV News had the chance to ask Kyra where her inspiration exactly came from: “My mom used to go to the women’s shelter and do their nails, so I got influenced because she helped people so I want to help people too.”

While she may only be 9-years-old, her ambition and drive are years beyond her age.
