As they do every year, Forbes has ranked the most powerful women in the world, and as always, some luminaries from the world of entertainment have made the list.
According to Forbes, women from thirty countries and territories are part of this year’s list but it was MacKenzie Scott who topped the list after donating a whopping $8.6 billion to charity since divorcing Jeff Bezos in 2019.
Scott, one of the wealthiest women in the world, donated $2.7 billion this year alone, which Forbes called “meaningful and revolutionary.”
Scott, 51, takes the No. 1 spot over former German chancellor Angela Merkel, who has ruled the list for years until formally ending her 16-year tenure in public office.
Other notable women who made the list include Queen Elizabeth II, Reese Witherspoon, Oprah, and Serena Williams.
Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Taylor Swift also made the cut, with Forbes citing their achievements in music, fashion and financial earnings as reasons for their inclusion.
