After hours of cold icy rain on Tuesday evening, thousands of Quebecers were left without electricity… In addition to extremely icy roads and sidewalks.

24,000 households were without electricity on Wednesday morning at around 5am, with the majority being located in the Montérégie region, with 9,300 affected. 5,300 households were without power in Outaouais, and close to 3,700 in the Laurentians. 1,800 Montrealers were found without electricity.

According to The Montreal Gazette, “Farther east, A winter storm warning was in effect for several regions of the province, as well as New Brunswick. More snow is expected today in the Côte-Nord, from Baie-Comeau to Blanc-Sablon, and from the Gaspé peninsula to Ste-Anne-des-Monts.”

Temperatures are expected to warm up in most parts of the province on Wednesday.
