Looks like Montreal’s infamous Peel Street is getting a facelift… $108 million dollars worth to be exact!

Earlier this week, the city of Montreal announced that Peel Street will be getting a whole new look between Rene-Levesque Blvd. and Sherbrooke St. West starting this fall.

According to CTV News, “The project includes reconstructing underground infrastructure in addition to widening sidewalks, creating a protected bike path, planting 30 trees and installing new street furniture.”

Peel Street is known for its heavy foot and car traffic, shopping opportunities, glamorous restaurants, and annual Formula One events that occur every summer in Montreal. With these new plans, the historic site will be converted into a one-way street to allow for more terrasse opportunities in the summer seasons.

The project is planned to begin this fall and is projected to be completed by 2025.

How do you feel about the city of Montreal’s new project?
