From coffee, tea, matcha, water, and everything in between… We all have our preferred choice of beverage when we first wake up in the morning. But, have you ever wondered what that exactly says about you?

After conducting a survey with over 2,000 people in the USA, researchers from Celestial Seasonings found that your choice of morning drink can speak volumes about what kind of person you are and what health choices you tend to make in life (in general).

Here were some of the results:

Tea drinkers

With 34% of the participants sharing that they prefer tea over coffee, a now preferred choice amongst millennials, we learned that most tea drinkers (93%) tend to make healthier life choices. The majority of participants shared that they do enjoy having a cup of tea when they wish to wind down.

Coffee drinkers

While most coffee drinkers share that they choose to make healthy life choices, 3 out of 5 of the participants have opened up that they struggle with various mental health issues, such as anxiety or depression. However, most of the participants shared that they have the most amount of energy and drive in the morning (65%).

Water/juice drinkers

Despite not being the top choice amongst participants, most water/juice drinkers (61%) have shared to have less anxiety or stress in their daily lives. The results also showed that the majority of non-caffeine drinkers (80%) stay productive throughout the day, just like the participants that are coffee drinkers… And arguably get the best sleep!

So, the next time you ask someone if they’re a coffee or tea drinker, you’ll be able to find out a lot more than just their drink cravings!
