According to researchers at the University of Leicester in the UK, the faster a person walks the more years they are adding to their life, solely based on their pace. Their research suggests that you can add as much as 16 years to your life only by picking up speed in your stride.

Take shorter and quicker strides: To make sure you’re getting the most out of your walk, take shorter strides. The shorter your stride, the less likely you will outstretch your footing.
Focus on your posture: By making sure your back is properly aligned when walking, the more you will quicken your pace. So stand up straight and fix that posture!
Make sure you bend your arms: By bending your arms, you will start to increase momentum. Make sure your arms are swaying with your walk with relaxed shoulders.
Tighten your glutes and abs: Make your walk with your while and tighten your abs and glutes! By focusing on these muscles, you will get even more results that initially planned for.
