It’s the 188th edition of the Saint-Jean-Baptiste holiday and the province is getting ready to party it up.
Every year on June 24th, Quebec lights up with fun events and celebrations all across the province. From parades, concerts, to local barbecues, there’s so much to do during St. Jean weekend. If you’re on the hunt to find some plans for the long weekend, you’ve come to the right place!
Here are different events and activities going on in the city that you can attend this long weekend in Montreal:
Starting on Thursday, Montrealers can attend a free concert situated at Place-des-Arts. You can expect artists from Jay Scott, Alicia Moffet, and Ariane Roy alongside many other familiar Quebec artists. You might want to get there a little early because once the clock strikes midnight, that’s when the party really starts.
From June 23-25, locals can visit the Stationary Parade on Boulevard de Maisonneuve, between Sanguinet Street and Saint-Dominique Street. Think parade without the floats, as there will be many paintings on display for pedestrians to enjoy.
And finally, you are guaranteed to run into many backyard parties throughout the Greater Montreal area throughout the weekend. Whether they be public or private, there’s lots to celebrate… You’ll also want to keep an eye out for those fireworks, as they are kicking off this weekend in Old Montreal!
How do you plan to celebrate this long weekend?
