Fitness coach Alessandro Passalalpi and owner of Fitathelte gives us a few pro tips on how to keep our bodies in shape and healthy for the summer. Although we may think we are doing everything right, sometimes a little professional help can go a long way.
Here is a list of 6 nutrition and exercise mistakes women make in the summer without realizing.
1) Overdoing Cheat Meals
True progress can be tracked by your weekly average of weight dropped. One cheat day can spike all those other hard-working low calorie days.
2) Insufficient Rest
Without proper rest between 7-8 hours, your body cannot fully recover. Recovery is everything when chasing goals such as weight loss.
3) Lower Body Workouts Only
Changing workouts up is imperative in spiking your metabolism. Change things up, and include upper body days.
4) Not Enough Water
Fatigue and slower digestion are just a couple of ways a lack of water can set anyone back.
5) Undereating
Going too low in calories too fast makes life harder when your body gets used to it. When calories get increased, your body will grasp onto it quicker, leading to an easier fat gain. Gradual is the way to go.
6) Letting The Scale Dictate Progress
Setting performance goals while taking progress pics can be another way to stay motivated and track progress effectively.
