Thousands of Montrealers were left without electricity after Sunday night’s storm, with many households still waiting for the return of their power early Monday morning.
Sunday night’s storm left the grounds shaking, the dogs howling, and many households without power. After all of the hot weather Montreal has been experiencing over the past few weeks, it comes to no surprise that heavy rain was on the horizon. However, many people living in the Laurentians, Lanaudière, Laval, and Montreal were left suffering the consequences of the storm early into Monday morning.
According to Hydro Quebec’s website, “The outages were caused in part by the tripping of protective equipment due to the lightning that accompanied the storms. Branches also came into contact with the network, causing interruptions. About 100 workers are working to restore service as quickly as possible.”
