It’s starting to look like the end of the pandemic is here in Canada.
Earlier this week, various sources reported that the Canadian border will soon drop COVID-19 mandates as soon as the end of September 2022. Something many of us have been waiting for for quite some time.
According to Global News, the use of the ArriveCAN app will become optional for travellers once returning back to Canada. However, this has yet to be confirmed from the Canadian government just yet.
Both vaccinated and unvaccinated travellers may still be subject to random testing at Canadian airports upon arrival. As this will help officials be aware of potential variants that may enter the country.
As for those wishing to travel to the United States, travellers are still required to show proof of vaccination when boarding an aircraft. However, we are unsure if the U.S. government will be following Canada’s change in COVID-19 mandates when it comes to border crossing.
