Yesterday, the Minister of Labour announced to Quebecers that the minimum wage in the province would increase from $14.25 an hour to $15.25 an hour starting May 1.
This increase of $1 is the most significant change the province has seen in over 25 years. When the new wage goes into effect, close to 300,000 employees across the province will be benefited.
This news means continuing struggles for small business owners who have had to face many challenges in the recent months. COVID-19, the increase of inflation rates and the labour shortage are just a few examples of the struggles they've had to face.
