Have you ever met a couple that got their wedding vows off of the internet? How about one that got their vows from an artificial intelligence tool?
ChatGPT recently determined the wedding vows of a couple in San Diego. If you're not familiar with the platform, ChatGPT is basically an online tool that allows users to ask for anything -literally anything- to be written on the spot.
Think homework, dreadful emails, or even love declarations to your spouse...

Elyse Nguyen used this tool before marrying her husband in February. A simple joke using the platform turned into the best wedding speech she could ask for.
“It helped alleviate some stress because I had no prior experience with wedding vows, nor did I know what should be included,” she explained in an interview with the New York Post. “Plus, ChatGPT is a genius with alliteration, analogies and metaphors. Having something like, ‘I promise to be your partner in life with the enthusiasm of a golfer’s first hole in one’ in my back pocket was comical.”
Users on TikTok also voiced their opinion on using ChatGPT to generate wedding vows under this video:
"Chat gpt is a male and I’m secretly in love with it. Like come on!"
"Omg this is actually really cute. ChatGPT coming for all our jobs and outdoing us in creativity."
"I got chat GPT to write my whole wedding website."
After seeing this, we decided to experiment a little ourselves and had ChatGPT come up with Catherine & Cat's wedding vows (they are work husband and work wife after all!) Here is a glimpse of the result:
"I never would have guessed that my job at the radio station would lead me to find the love of my life. From the moment we met, I knew there was something special about you. Maybe it was your quick wit, your infectious laugh, or the way you rocked that microphone like a pro.
"I vow to be your biggest fan, to always support you in your DJ endeavors, and to never get tired of hearing you talk about your favorite bands. And I vow to be your partner in all things, from navigating the tricky waters of radio politics to deciding what to eat for dinner."
