If you think you're the biggest bagel lover in town- this story might prove you wrong.
It all started when Isla Gaia started a Facebook group dedicated to foodies back in 2021. The group aims to help small businesses as they continue to face the struggles of the 2020 pandemic.
Fast forward to today, Gaia asked the group if anyone wanted to chip in with her on the purchase of St-Viateur bagels from Montreal. “I had the delight of trying St-Viateur Bagels back in 2021 and thought they were unique compared to any other bagel I have ever had. My whole family loved them,” Gaia said in an interview.
Over 400 comments and 30 volunteers later, Gaia was able to order nearly 5,000 bagels from St-Viateur (talk about spending the dough!)
On September 20th, Lower Mainland Canadians will be able to enjoy these freshly delivered Montreal bagels, as they will be delivered to pickup points throughout Vancouver, Port Coquitlam and Langley.
Gaia was even told by St-Viateur that t-shirts and other merch would be sent for the special day.
