Gwen Stefani has admitted her life “fell apart” when her marriage to Gavin Rossdale ended.
The No Doubt singer opened up about the “terrible” split, when Gwen filed for divorce in 2015 after almost 13 years of marriage and three sons together.
“When that happened, I had to literally start over again,” Gwen explained in a new interview with People published on Wednesday. “It was a reset of my life.”
The 53-year-old star also discussed her happy relationship with Blake Shelton.
Gwen confessed that she “didn’t see” the romance coming but has claimed the country music star “changed (her) life” when they began dating in 2015.
“This was just a big old ‘What?’ It was an amazing gift to experience love like that for the first time,” she smiled.
“When I (started dating) Blake, that’s when I felt home, like, ‘Oh, this is where I’m supposed to be, with this guy.’”
Gwen and Blake got engaged in 2020 and tied the knot the following year.
During the interview, the Don’t Speak singer also touched upon leaving city life behind to set up home with Blake in Oklahoma.
“I am not really a dirt person, a bug person, I don’t like that much humidity,” she laughed.
“But it’s so beautiful, and you kind of feel like you’re going into this vortex. Nature — and God — is all right there.”
