Paris Hilton has been inspired by Barbie's style her "entire life".
The 42-year-old media personality looked back on her "Barbiecore" outfit from the 2001 Maxim Lounge opening in Las Vegas during an interview with British Vogue.
"I was going for the Barbiecore vibes before there was even the word Barbiecore," Paris said, referring to a phenomenon that summarises the iconic doll's signature look. "I invented it."
"Barbie is my idol, she is such an icon. I have looked up to her my entire life," The Simple Life star continued. "I always loved that Barbie could be anything that she set her mind to, whether it was a teacher or an astronaut, president, this woman did it all."
Describing her look from the event, Paris shared, "And this was a pink Versace dress that Donatella (Versace) had given me, and my pink Barbie bag that I got at FAO Schwarz in New York, the most epic toy store that I used to go to all the time when I was little."
The pink mini dress featured a plunging neckline and was accessorised with pink bracelets, a silver necklace and a tiara.
Paris then noted that she always used to do her own make-up for events.
"My favourite make-up was a black smokey eye, but I guess this night I decided orange, maybe 'cause we're in Vegas," she added.
Paris was known for rocking bold pink outfits throughout the 2000s, from pink velour tracksuits to evening gowns. The star had also been known to drive pink cars and dress up her dogs in pink.
