Montreal’s biggest ice skating rink is making a comeback this week… And it’s going to be one magical experience!

Used throughout all four seasons, the rink is transformed into a venue for hosting public art shows and theatre performances in the summertime, and is transformed into one magical skating experience in the winter season.

According to their website, “Esplanade Tranquille is named in honour of the Tranquille bookstore, once located on the site, and its owner, Henri Tranquille (1916-2005). It is an important site in contemporary Quebec history, having hosted the launch of the Refus global manifesto in 1948.”

Situated on the corner of Sainte-Catherine and rue Clark, L’Esplanade Tranquille is seriously New York’s Rockefeller Center’s direct competition when it comes to glamorous rinks… That, and their bagels (although, we know Montreal has the best bagels yet!)

Make sure to get those skates sharpened, Montreal! The winter fun starts back again on November 15th!

See you there!
