On Thursday morning, Montreal’s Jacques-Cartier bridge was forced to close in both directions, causing heavy traffic and blockages, both inbound and outbound.
The blockages were caused by protests involving no less than some 100 demonstrators.
As of 8:30am, circulation on the bridge has slowly resumed. "End of the Intervention at the Jacques-Cartier Bridge, the traffic lanes will gradually be reopened with restraining patrols," as the bridge reports it on Twitter.
